In a horrendous incident, a 24-year-old woman, along with her two-year-old daughter, was found murdered under mysterious circumstances at her rented accommodation in East Delhi’s East Vinod Nagar area on Monday. Moreover, the alleged killer wrote a purported suicide note to mislead police. Police have registered a case of murder at the Mandawali police station and are investigating the case.
According to a police officer, privy to the investigation, the deceased woman has been identified as Geetanajli while the daughter has been identified as Ananya.
The incident came to light at around 6:15 pm when Geetanjali’s husband, Mithilesh, who works in the railways, returned and found that the main door of the house was locked from inside.
He rang the door bell but Geetanjali did not answer. When Mithilesh called her repeatedly, the calls too went unanswered.
To which, he made a PCR call. Mithilesh also informed the landlord.
A team of local police reached the spot and broke open the door and found the mother daughter lying in a pool of blood.
Ironically, police said they found a suicide note in which it was written that the mother had killed her daughter.
Police said they have registered a case of murder under relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code. Police said they have sent the bodies of the woman and the child to lal Bahadur Shastri hospital for post-mortem.
