In a bizarre incident, a four-year-old child was murdered and her 17-year-old sister severely injured when their mother and another woman launched a murderous assault on each other. It led to the death of a 44-year-old woman while the other, a staff nurse at Acharya Bhikshu Hospital in Moti Nagar, has been admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre and is stated to be stable.
The incident took place around 2.40 pm on Thursday in Moti Nagar area of West district. Investigators said that they recovered a suicide note purportedly written by the nurse. The note was scribbled in haste and there was blood spatter it.
A senior official said that the staff nurse attacked her 44-year-old neighbour Reena with a surgical blade. It appears that the woman lost her temper after Reena questioned her about her liaison with her husband. It led to a heated argument and the nurse then attacked her with the blade and slit her throat. It appears that the four-year-old son of the nurse was stabbed during the scuffle between the two women. Her 17-year-old daughter too sustained stab injuries on her back and hands. The child and Reena were declared brought dead, said TS luthra, Joint CP (South West). The nurse and her daughter were later shifted to AIIMS.
