Water supply would be affected in parts of the city this week due to some of the maintenance work being carried out by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).
The supply would not be available or available at low pressure on Monday due to annual programme for flushing of Hasanpur reservoir in areas such as Vinay Marg, Akbar Road, Sarojni Nagar Laxmi Bai Nagar, Ashoka Hotel, Akbar Hodel, Nehru Park, Chanakya Puri, Teen Murti Embassies, Shanti Path, Safdarjung, Race Course, Maulana Azad Road, Suajan Singh Park, Parliament Library etc.
The DJB in a statement said that the supply would also be affected in some of the areas due to annual programme for flushing of underground reservoir and booster pumping station. The areas where supply would be affected on Monday are Munirka Village, 279 house (224 Janta and 55 LIG) Pkt.10, Nasirpur, 312/336 SFS House Pocket-1 Sector-1 Nasirpur, Aya Nagar, A-1/A Block Janakpuri, 608 ST Tagore Garden, A-Block Pandav Nagar, Madipur, Vikaspuri, Uttam Nagar, EU Block Pitampura, B-5 Sector-8 Rohini, Amrit Puri, IKV BPS, Shastri Nagar, Inderlok, Gulabi Bagh DDA Flats , Pratap Nagar, Sarai Rohilla, Sarai Basti, DDA Flats Mayur Vihar Phase-I Pkt.IV, Vivek Vihar Phase-I & II, Janta Colony Jhilmil and their adjoining areas. .
The DJB also informed that supply would also be affected on Tuesday and Wednesday in some of the areas in South Delhi due to a bifurcation work is also being carried out by the board at Sonia Vihar water treatment plant. The affected areas are Kailash Nagar, Sarai Kale Khan, Jal Vihar, Lajpat Nagar, Mool Chand, Greater Kailash, Vasant Kunj, Devli, Ambedkar Nagar, Panchsheel Park, Shahpur Jat, Kotla Mubarakpur, Defence Colony, Siddhartha Enclave, Sarita Vihar,Okhla, Dakshinpuri, Apollo, Greater Kailash (North), Greater Kailash (South), Malviya Nagar, Deer park, Geetanjali, Shriniwaspuri, Chattarpur, New Delhi Municipal Council and their adjoining areas.
The DJB has advised to store sufficient quantity of water in advance as per their requirement to avoid any inconvenience.
