A video of a police vehicle, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which is issued to top rank police official, went viral on the internet where a man can be seen flouting all norms by performing stunts on the running vehicle. The video was originally posted on Tik Tok by one Dushyant Sharma. Police said that the vehicle shown in the video belonged to a private contractor was hired for certain duties. It was not a Delhi Police vehicle and the person in this video is not a policeman.

In the video, a bare-chested man can be seen driving a white Ertiga which looks like a Delhi Police official vehicle and then goes to the roof of the running vehicle and performs pushups. Whether the man and the vehicle actually belonged to Delhi Police is yet to be ascertained.

“The vehicle in the video confirmed to be of a private contractor taken on hire for certain duties, and it is not a Delhi Police vehicle. The person in the video clip is also identified to be not a

policeman but the friend of the private driver of the hired vehicle,” said Madhur Verma, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), New Delhi and PRO.

“The private contractor has been issued a Show Cause Notice (SCN) for the violation, and necessary legal action will be taken against him.

Incident also appears to be of an older date, and not of recent times. Matter has also been taken up for further enquiry by Joint Commissioner of Police, Security,” said  the DCP.
