Claiming there is no headway in the murder of a Delhi youth, who was working in Uganda, on September 29, his family members have now approached the High Commission of Uganda here and have sought its intervention to expedite the matter. The family has asked the High Commission to take up the matter with the Ugandan Government so that facts regarding the murder case are exposed.
It may be recalled that Harish Sharma, a resident of Delhi was murdered by a security guard in the presence of company owner Abhay Bansal, who is the sole eyewitness of the case. According to available reports, Harish Sharma was the General Manager at the Kampala-based company M/s Big Boss Universal limited and was holding a meeting with the management on the fateful day. The security guard of the company barged into his office and demanded money. He shot Sharma dead before he could even react.
The family claimed that Bansal has flown back to India, which is unusual as he is the only eyewitness then how was he allowed to fly backIJ “The role of the security company Delta Security, one Altaf and Tarun Kapoor, the proprietor of Brag Universal limited, need to be interrogated so that the truth can be unearthed. The accused security guard, Najibu Buhani, was on the same duty for more than 72 hours without even signing the attendance register. Also, Bansal had filed a case against Altaf as he had threatened them on refusing to purchase some sub-standard material. Tarun Kapoor also had a payment dispute with Bansal,” said HN Sharma, brother-in-law of the deceased.
The aggrieved family members of Harish have also approached the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) seeking justice as they feel that the authorities at Kampala were not doing justice. “We want all facts of the case and the circumstances that led to the brutal killing of Harish,” Sharma added.
