Reiterating that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is the ‘B’ team of the Congress, leader of BJP legislative party Harsh Vardhan on Wednesday said the AAP was misleading people by not deciding on the formation of Government in the Capital.
Raising doubts over intentions of the party, Vardhan posed 14 queries in response of the 18 point-letter of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal. He dared them to come out clean with their stand on Government formation alleging that the debutant party has a secret pact with the Congress. The chief ministerial candidate said the AAP must tell the people of Delhi whether it is serious about forming the Government.
Denouncing AAP’s decision of seeking public opinion on taking charge of the Government in Delhi, Vardhan termed their activities as an absolute ‘drama’. “The party is playing with the people’s mandate by going to the public again for the same issue of Government formation. It is as if the AAP is undermining the choices made by the people on December 4. The alliance between the Congress and the AAP is already there. They have entered into a secret understanding. Everything has been decided already,” said Vardhan. He added that both the parties had entered into an ‘unholy alliance’ before the election to keep the BJP away from power.
Vardhan also sought clarifications from the party on 14 points such as why it was adopting delaying tactics on Government formation. “All the development works in the city has come to a standstill because there is no clarity about the Government. We, on the day of the results, had made it clear that we are ready to sit on the Opposition and won’t take support from anyone. Now, 11 days have passed since the results, it is high-time the AAP declares if it is forming the Government or not. It also has to clear its stand on its link with the Congress,” he added. He went on to criticise the party of maintaining double standards and said, “After winning 28 seats, the AAP had announced it will neither cooperate with the Congress and the BJP nor seek their help to form the Government. Now the situation has overturned.”
He also sought the party’s logic behind appealing to the business and industrial houses for donation even after the elections. “The AAP has always been claiming that it will contest elections with the donations received from the people. Now, when the elections are over, Arvind Kejriwal is still appealing to all the business and industrial houses for donation. Is amassing wealth the only objective of the AAP,” questioned Vardhan.
Ruling out any support to the AAP, he alleged that the new party has people who had taken ‘anti-national stand’ on many issues. “This party had insulted Martyr Mohan Chand Sharma who sacrificed his life in the Batla House encounter. Besdies, the leader and advisor of the AAP, Prashant Bhushan, had spoken sympathetically about the divisive forces in Jammu and Kashmir,” he alleged.
