Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Ram Manohar lohia Hospital here after he complained of uneasiness.
“He is suffering from fever, cold and cough…we kept him under observation in the Medical ICU and later in the evening shifted him to a room. So far, his condition is normal and several tests including some blood tests have been done,” Medical Superintedent of the RMl Hospital, Dr AK Gadpayle told The Pioneer.
According to the hospital staff, the 48-year-old leader was admitted at 3.38 pm. Maurya has been suffering from mild fever for the last seven days, said a doctor.
However, the Medical Superintendent ruled put any serious condition. He said that the BJP leader is likely to be discharged on Friday.
“We will most likely discharge the Minister after examining the blood test reports on Friday, which we hope would be fine. On admission his blood pressure was slightly higher. At present he is fully conscious and better. He is kept under observation for further evaluation,” he said.
A source from the hospital said that Maurya has been overworking for the recently- concluded Assembly polls in UP which led to his health issues. Maurya is being seen as one of the strong contenders for the Chief Minister’s post in UP after the BJP posted a landslide win in the Assembly polls.
