In a significant development, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South district BS Jaiswal was transferred to Traffic Police as DCP, Southern Range. Orders to the new postings were issued by the Delhi Administration on Thursday. The transfer of Jaiswal has set tongues wagging. The recent case of hooliganism involving Parth Wadia that took place in the nightclub of DlF Promenade at Vasant Kunj had caused quite a bit of consternation in the Delhi Police hierarchy after Wadia managed to get anticipatory bail. This was not liked by the Delhi top brass as Wadia was wanted in a case of attempt to murder registered at Vasant Kunj North police station. Delhi Police had plastered some 25,000 posters of Wadia all over the city and a reward of `25,000 was declared for his arrest. Yet South district police came a cropper and the accused got anticipatory bail. Sunanda Pushkar’s mysterious death too had caused a flutter. There were glaring discrepancies in Sunanda Pushkar’s case files. Further, a shoddy probe did not earn South district police any blandishments.
Others who were given new postings include Shweta Chauhan who has been posted as Additional DCP-I of the Outer district while Umesh Kumar has been posted to replace her as Additional DCP-II of New Delhi district.
Rishipal, on transfer from Goa, has been posted as Additional DCP, North-West district while Atul Katiyar has been posted as the Additional CP licencing in place of DR AK Singh, who swaps place with Katiyar as the Additional CP of Armed Police.
