In order to facilitate the tax payers in filing their property tax, North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMC) has announced that all its zonal and circle offices of property tax department will remain open on last Saturday of June 2018, falling on 30 June 2018.
A senior official of NMC said that all property owners are advised to pay their property tax and file the property tax returns by June 30 positively. Failed to do that, an action will be taken against the defaulters as per the legal course which may be imposing penalty, interest, attachment of account and property and even auction of the property, he said.
The property tax offices will remain open from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, he said.
Meanwhile, Mayor of NMC Adesh Gupta paid a surprise visit to the offices in City and SP zone. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Ruchika Katyal, and other senior officials of the NMC.
During the visit, he inspected the birth and death certificate issuing centre and house tax collection centres. He also met tax payers in the House tax collection centre and educates them about the online facility of paying house tax.
Gupta discussed the preventive measures taken to prevent vector borne diseases like dengue and malaria. He directed officials to conduct more public awareness programs in this regard.
