Attacking Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) sitting MP and candidate Manoj Tiwari from North East constituency, Sheila Dikshit, former Delhi Chief Minister and Congress candidate from North
East constituency said Tiwari had kept a blind eye towards the problems faced by the resident in the constituency.
Addressing the gathering in NE constituency on Tuesday, Dikshit said when the sealing and demolition drives were being carried out, the
BJP MP kept a blind eye, instead of taking up the issue with the authorities and finding a satisfactory solution to save the livelihood of lakhs of people.
She said the BJP Government at the Centre did nothing to stop the sealing and demolition drive, which could have easily saved the livelihood of lakhs of people, and protect the jobs of several lakhs of workers. She said the actor-neta of the BJP, who is the MP of the area, only indulged in lip service instead of initiating strong action to stop the sealing drive.
Dikshit said that she understands the difficulties of the voters, particularly the women voters, as before entering active politics, she had played the role of a devoted mother and a housewife.
She said that she realizes the anger and helplessness of the people affected by the sealing and demolition drive, as these reckless moves by the BJP and AAP Governments have ruined the lives of lakhs of people. She said that these drives have particularly affected the mothers and their children, as they stare at an uncertain future with anxiety.
