A 29-year-old warden posted at Tihar Jail was arrested on Thursday for allegedly supplying contraband ‘Ganja’ to inmates lodged in jail number 4. Also, the Delhi Police recovered 112 grams of ‘Charas’ and 35 grams of ‘Ganja’ from the possession of the accused identified as Sandeep — posted in Tihar since May 2015.
The incident took place on Thursday when Sandeep was trying to enter the jail with the drugs in his pocket.
“He was frisked when the guards deployed at the entrance found 150 gms of contraband drugs with him. He was subsequently arrested. It is not known from where he got the drugs. However, he was stopped at the gate itself,” said an investigating officer.
