With rain frequenting the city, the national Capital has so far received excess rainfall of 74 per cent. Wednesday was a pleasant day for Delhiites as they witnessed a brief spell of rainfall in the afternoon.

However, waterlogging complaints continued coming in. With bouts of shower across the city, the Met Department has predicted similar weather conditions on Thursday as well.

“This season, the city has got an excess rainfall of 74 per cent. This is because of heavy clouds forming over Delhi regularly,” said a Met official. The Capital was hit by sporadic rain since Saturday, when over three-hour long downpour, had left more than 100 roads waterlogged.

On Wednesday there was a generally cloudy sky with rain occurring in several parts of the city. North Delhi received the highest rainfall of 79.6 mm. Among areas, which did not receive any rain, were Palam and Aya Nagar. The rain-gauge measured a rainfall of 19.2 mm at Safdarjung, whereas that of lodhi Road was 6.2 mm. There were reports of strong winds in North and Central Delhi areas.

“On Thursday too, the sky would be generally cloudy with high possibility of rain and thundershowers in different parts of the city,” said the Met official. The maximum temperature will be 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum will settle at 27 degree.
