Three trafficked girls rescued

Staff Reporter

After the inaction of the Delhi Police, a team of the Bachpan Bachao Andolan rescued three trafficked girls on Wednesday after they received information that 15 girls were kept in an agency in Madipur area of West Delhi. They informed the police in the area who conducted a raid and three girls were rescued as the rest had supposedly been warned earlier.

The team at Bachpan Bachao Andolan took over the case after Jisoya Tathi traveled from Assam to find his young sister Pritha who was missing since five years. Pritha was influenced by the trafficker and brought to the Capital for work and money like other human trafficking victims. Though Pritha was not found, the team found three other girls.

At first, the team of BBA complained to the DCP (Crime) and Anti-Human Trafficking Unit but there was no action taken against the matter. However, they decided to tread on their own and investigated on the matter. “After a lot of research, a placement agency was identified. We received information that 15 girls were kept in the agency and with the help of police officials at Punjabi Bagh station, a raid was conducted. We suspected that Pritha would also be one of the girls,” said the Rakesh Senger from BBA.

He added on Wednesday in Madipur area of West Delhi, police officials along with BBA activists entered the premises of Golden Placement Services. “Although we couldn’t find all the girls as it felt the information was leaked, we saw three girls were sitting in the dark looking extremely afraid. Initially a lady was trying to hide the agency owner, Daniel but we could finally locate him. After interrogation it was revealed that they were trafficked from districts of Jharkand and Odisha and a trafficker named Sushail had brought them to work in Delhi as domestic helps,” informed Senger.
