In a shocking incident,  a 17-year-old boy allegedly stoned his father to death when the boy could not stop his drunk father from abusing his mother in outer Delhi’s Samaipur Badli area.

The juvenile — apprehended by police — confessed that he wanted to save his mother from his father’s abuse and hence took the extreme step. The victim was identified as Surendra Kumar and he was killed on Monday during an altercation with his son.

“The boy has been sent to a correction home after being produced before a juvenile justice board,” DCP (Outer) Vikramjit Singh said.

According to police, the incident took place in the afternoon when the boy’s father returned home in an inebriated state and started abusing his mother. Soon, the boy intervened and entered into a heated argument with his father, which soon turned into a scuffle. The boy then allegedly fetched a stone and started hitting his father with it in front of his mother.

Kumar died on the spot after his son continuously attacked him on his head, said police. A police source siad the boy hid Kumar’s body in his house for some time and later took the body to a nearby vacant plot. The residents around the vacant

plot complained of a foul smell coming from

the area. A local called up PCR following which a team of police officials rushed to the spot and recovered the body of the deceased.

“The body was sent for post-mortem and his son was questioned at his house where he broke down and confessed killing his father,” said a police officer. During interrogation, the boy told police that his father was an alcoholic and often used to abuse and assault his mother. He claimed to have taken the step to save his mother, an official said.

The case was registered at Samaipur Badli police station.
