Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has expressed concern over slow pace of expenditure by various departments in the current financial year. At the HoDs meeting, Sisodia directed to speed up expenditure of the departments and sought details of expenditures by the next meeting.
It would be pertinent to mention that the Delhi Government has spent its 37.79 per cent of the non-plan fund in its first five months of the current financial year while it has spent only 17.37 per cent of its planned fund.
On the other hand, the money spent in the non- planned fund head is mostly used for salary, subsidies, contingencies programme and other miscellaneous activities of the Government and if the same trend continues the Government may be short of funds under this head.
The deputy Chief Minister also directed urban development department to transfer MlA funds to District Urban Development Authority (DUDA).
