For a very short period of time the heavy showers on Friday evening in the national Capital dampened the excitement of the participants at Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s World Culture Festival being held on Yamuna riverbed.

Though the rain cooled the temperature, it added to the chaos with the event being delayed by an hour.  “We cannot see any rain cover. No arrangement has been made to protect people from heavy spell of rains. Since the authorities have spent so much money on organising the event at such a large scale, they should have also kept in mind the rain and organised this event in a covered area,” said Kavita Saini, a resident of Noida Sector-62.

The venue was riddled with puddles and muck. Among other things, a number of people seated at the venue left the seats to seek refuge from rain in their cars. While a sizeable amount of people loved getting drenched. “There was no point sitting and getting drenched at the venue. We are rushing towards our cars, if the rain showers settle down we will attend the event, else we will leave and come tomorrow,” said Abhishek Tiwari.
