The Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday handed over cheques of rS 15 lakh each to families of Ankit Saxena and Dhruv Tyagi. The Minister also said the name of the road will be changed where the 23-year-old photographer was killed by his Muslim girlfriend's parents and brothers in West Delhi's Khyala. Siaodia also met the family members of Dhruv Tyagi who was murdered in Basai Darapur area in West Delhi.

The Deputy Chief Minister,  Greater Kailash MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj and Madipur MLA Girish Soni visited the parents of the youth, where the father of the youth requested Sisodia to name the square or road where his son was killed.

"It is my wish that the road or the square where my son lost his life be named after him in his memory, if it is possible," said said Yashpal Saxena father of the victim. Following which the deputy CM Sisodia immediately directed the local MLA Girish Soni to send a representation to his office to this effect. "Within the next 10 days, the Government will call a meeting of the relevant road naming authority and carry out your wish," said Sisodia.

Ankit Saxena's father was hailed last year for his role in maintaining calm in the area with the Delhi Police, preventing attempts to create a communal divide in the name of the murder.

"I am amazed by the grace with which you have carried yourself despite going through such a tragic time. Your maturity and the sensitivity with which you responded to such a devastating incident have left a mark on all of us. We thank you for being a voice of reason," Sisodia added.

Besides, the Mminister also met and announced compensation to the family members of Dhruv Tyagi, a 51-year-old man who was murdered while defending his daughter from attempted harassment at West Delhi's Moti Nagar area.
