Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Sunday addressed North Delhi Residents’ Welfare Federation. This was the third RWA meeting addressed by Dikshit in the past two months.
Former Transport Minister Ramakant Goswami was also present on the occasion. Dikshit assured RWAs that she would always be at the forefront to fight their cause. Pledging her support to all the members present at the event, Dikshit urged them to continue their struggle and raise issues related to the problems of their localities so that “the sleeping Government is awakened”.
The federation claimed that since March 2013, a new Government assumed office twice, but they have done nothing to solve the problems of the people. They said that even Government departments are not taking any action on their complaints because “they are not answerable to anyone”.
“This is actually corruption because of which the grievances of the people are not addressed,” said the federation, adding that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is working like an Opposition leader. The main issues that were raised in the meeting included the Janakpuri-Wazirabad corridor, water scarcity, curtailment of development work and electricity subsidy.
