A 50-year-old schoolteacher was shot at allegedly by a person in Rohini’s Kanjhawala area when he, along with four people was playing cards. The incident occurred on Sunday evening. The school teacher has been identified as Mahavir Singh, a resident of Khanjawala.
“The victim received a bullet injury in his shoulder and has been treated in a hospital where his condition stated to be stable,” said the DCP.
“Initial probe suggest that Mahavir had no grudges with anyone and not sure why this happened to him. Police suspect that the accused might have come there to target another person, as five men were present at the time of the incident, and mistakenly shot at Mahavir,” said the police official privy to investigation.
“Police have identified the accused, who is known to the victim, and are trying to nab him,” said the police official adding that further investigation is on.
