A sanitary inspector, three assistant sanitary inspectors and one sanitary guide along with a leader of sanitation employee in civil line zone of North Corporation have been suspended allegedly for dereliction of duties.
According to the official, the Deputy Commissioner civil line zone conducted an inspection on Friday of the area to check sanitation. During the inspection Ward number-7 N was found filled with garbage and drains were not cleaned properly, following which the Deputy Commissioner suspended them all.
“The Corporation suspended six officials with immediate effect for dereliction of duties. They failed to discharge their duties properly as the area was not found clean during inspection. One of the suspended staff is a safai karamchari who was suspended for insubordination and disobeying the superiors,” said official statment.
“Sudhir a sanitary inspector of ward number 13-N along with other five have been placed under suspension with immediate effect for dereliction of duty,” said order issued by the additional commissioner, civil line zone.
North Corporation Commissioner, PK Gupta, said, “Despite the court order, we had also issued repeated and strict instruction to improve the sanitation services but they are not paying any heed. Hence we took such action.”
