Sachdeva draws LG attention to RTI report on CM house renovation

Staff Reporter

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva on Wednesday drew the attention of Lt Governor VK Saxena towards an RTI report widely in circulation in media and social media since Tuesday and whose authenticity has not been denied by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's government till now.

The RTI says Rs 29.56 crores were paid to four contractors for maintenance works in Chief Minister’s residence by the Public Works Department(PWD) of Delhi government.

Letter says that by Government's silence one thing stands confirmed that the RTI apart from figures of amounts and names of contractors mentioned therein are true, Sachdeva claimed.

Delhi BJP President has said the RTI issued recently on 29 December 2023 tells that between 31 March 2015 to 27 December 2022 an amount of Rs. 29.56 crores has been paid to 4 contractors for maintenance works in Chief Minister residence by the Public Works Department of Delhi Government.

Sachdeva said though we are not experts in the matter but it is surprising to note that none of the contractors named in the RTI are a well-established name and the amounts given to them for civil, plumbing, electrical and sewerage maintenance work by Public Works Department is exorbitant and it seems that these figures for maintenance work are a bit too high.

As per the RTI one A.K. Builders has been paid over Rs. 29.08 crores while one Munzareen Ahmed has been paid over Rs. 29.86 lacs.
