In yet another incident of road rage, a doctor, his father and assistant were allegedly thrashed by a group of unidentified men in East Delhi's Krishna Nagar on Thursday evening.
According to a senior police official, the victim has been identified as Shivpuri resident Manoj Aggarwal (37), who runs a paediatric clinic in Shahdara.
The incident happened at around 5:45 pm when the doctor was going to his clinic from his home with his assistant and 68-year-old father, said police, adding that bike-borne assailants hit the victim's car from behind. When the doctor protested, the assailants started abusing him and asked him to park his car on the side.
Police said the assailants got down from their two wheelers and started thrashing the doctor and his assistant. According to the doctor's complaint, there were nine men out of which three beat him, his assistant and his father while the rest of the gang just watched and public didn’t come to help them.
“One of them brutally thrashed my father and assistant Vimal as well. After that they abused and threatened us of dire consequences if we complained to police," the doctor told police.
Based on the complaint of the victim, an FIR was registered at the Krishna Nagar police station under relevant sections of IPC and investigation has been taken up.
