The Delhi Police on Thursday claimed there was no evidence against BJP MP Maheish Girri and NDMC vice chairman Kanwar Singh Tanwar’s involvement in the murder of NDMC legal advisor MM Khan and gave a clean chit to the two persons.
Amid raging controversy over the murder, police claimed that they are conducting an impartial probe into the murder of Khan.
A senior police official said the letters that are being circulated in the media by the AAP have been thoroughly scrutinised and there is no evidence against BJP MP Mahesh Giri and NDMC vice-chairman Kanwar Singh Tanvar found.
The letters have also been seized by the Investigating Agency. All the relevant documents related to the file of Hotel Connaught in Connaught Place have been seized from NDMC.
“The investigation in the Khan murder case has been conducted professionally. We are about to file charge sheet against seven arrested accused who are also named in the FIR. We have thoroughly gone by each and every fact and evidences in the case during investigation. No involvement of any politician was found,” said RP Upadhyay, Joint Commissioner of Police (South-Eastern range).
He said there have been reports in the media that the investigation is being influenced to save a few persons who are involved in the murder of Khan, which is totally false.
