A stretch of Vikas Marg abutting laxmi Nagar Metro Station was flooded on Monday due to a pipeline burst, causing hardship to locals and severe traffic congestion in the busy market area.
The incident was reported around 9 am, a PWD official said. Delhi Jal Board (DJB), in a statement, said it was repairing the leakage, which would affect water supply in East Delhi till Tuesday morning.
The East Delhi areas that may be hit by a water crisis are Nirman Vihar, Preet Vihar, East laxmi Nagar market, Defence Enclave, laxmi Nagar, Shakarpur, Mayur Vihar Phase-I/II/III, Vinod Nagar, Mandawli, Trilokpuri, among others.
