To supplement the supply of potable water in deficit areas, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) is going to set up RO Plants and water dispensing units in various parts of Delhi. The Plant is based on the internationally acclaimed model of Savda Ghevra.

“About 29 decentralised RO based plants can be installed at various locations across Delhi on ‘Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer’ (DBFOT) basis. The areas for installing these plants have been identified,” said the DJB official.

In 124th Board meeting of the DJB, SSYadav, CEO DJB said, “The Board is committed to providing piped drinking water supply to every household, in line with the policy of the Government. It is DJB’s endeavour to extend piped water supply in a time-bound manner in the next three years to those unauthorised colonies which are dependent on water tankers to meet the daily requirements.”

The DJB has proposed for the commissioning of 8 MGD Waste Water Pumping Station at the Ghitorni Wastewater Treatment Plant and providing water distribution system in Begampur Extension, BegamVihar A, B, C, D and E block.

“The 8 MGD Wastewater Pumping Station which is likely to cost Rs. 7.64 Crores, will help in the abatement of pollution in the Yamuna River. The project will get completed within a year.”
