Delhi Jal Board (DJB) is going to install around 100 free water units at all vantage points on roads across the length and breadth of the Capital. People will be able to drink filtered water free of cost for which they would have otherwise had to pay for. “These water units will be placed around the areas of Ring Road in the first phase,” said Kapil Mishra, vice chairman, DJB.

“We will be setting up some 100 free water units in the month of June,” Mishra told The Pioneer adding, “It will be a relief for those toiling away in the hot summer months.” DJB will be taking the help and support from private players who are expected to fund it in setting up these water units. “Some corporate biggies have approached us,” said Mishra. These water units will also help DJB in generating revenue through advertisements displayed on the units. “The advertisements will allow us in generating the revenue and the scheme will be expanded further,” said Mishra.
