A 19-year-old maniac who had raped and murdered a three-year-old girl in Gurugram on November 11 was a repeat offender. Till now he has confessed to have raped and murdered nine minor girls in Delhi, Guurgram, Gwalior and Jhansi. Apart from the these cases, he had also molested 10 minor girls. Gurugram Police has written to the police top brass of the neighbouring States to ascertain whether  he was involved in more such crime.

Rajkumari, the kin of a four-year-old girl who was raped and murdered by the accused in November 2016 in Gurugram's Sector-49 alleged that the accused had molested around 10 minor girls before he targeted the victim. The accused used to sit at Shani temple near their Jhuggis in sector-49 to identify his targets. The accused used to molest young girls who came to eat at bhandaaras or collect prasad at the temple and were unaccompanied by adults.  He often lured minor girls by offering them chocolates and sometime money too.  We  confronted him and even slapped and warned him several times to mend his ways, she said.

Sunil Kumar, the accused was very silent and introvert when he was living in our locality and it is shocking that he has turned out to be such a barbaric killer, she added.

The 4-year-old girl body was found in a dump yard near Omaxe Mall in November 2016. The victim was originally from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh but lived in a slum behind Uppal Southend in Sector-49 with her family.

"We are very happy the local police finally arrested the accused behind the brutal crime. We didn't visit Shani temple for two years from where the accused lured our loved child and later raped and killed her. We will be satisfied once the accused get harsh punishment from the concerned authority," Raj Kumari said.

In another incident, recalling his pain the father of the 5-year-old girl who was raped and murdered by the accused Sunil in January 2017 in posh civil lines area said "The victim and her younger sister were twins and born after 24 years of our marriage. He took my girl from civil lines area when she was having food in a social community kitchen and later raped and killed her."

The body of the victim was recovered 20 days later from a pond in Ambedkar park near Rajeev Chowk in Gurugram. The spot where the girl's body found was ironically less than 50 metres away from state PWD minister Rao Narbir Singh's house.

The deceased was a resident of Sector 15, her father was a rickshaw puller then. Now the family is running a vegetable shop in the same area. The family had been living in Gurugram for the last 24 years.

"At that time I had urged the police team to search my girl only in civil lines area but they didn't pay to heed my request. Till now I can hear my girl screaming for help. She was everything for me earlier I was fit and fine but now I am very weak due to the incident. We will be happy once the demon killer gets the death penalty," the bereaved father said.
