The Delhi BJP on Tuesday held a massive demonstration near Delhi Vidhan Sabha to protest against total maladministration in Delhi. Party workers sat on a dharna followed by a massive demonstration at the barricade set up by the Delhi Police near Vidhan Sabha.Thousands of BJP workers —including Ramesh Bidhuri MP, leader of Opposition in Assembly Vijender Gupta, former pradesh president and MP Vijay Goel and MlAs OP Sharma and Jagdish Pradha took part in the protest. Police used water cannon and light force to disperse the workers, who were detained and released a little later.
The protesters blocked the Mahatma Gandhi Ring Road Marg over a stretch of 1 km. The procession started at the BJP office and moved to Vidhan Sabha at 2 pm. Criticising the AAP Government, the demonstrators raised slogans and claimed that Arvind Kejriwal, the muffler man who appeared innocently in front of the people, has conned them by increasing the electricity tariff by six per cent instead of reducing it.Talking to The Pioneer, BJP leader Vijay Pandit said, “Delhi is going through its worst phase under the rule of AAP Government.”
BJP leaders Jayendra Dabas, Virendra Sachdeva, Mahendra Gupta, Kishan Tyagi and many others spoke against the hike in power tariff and targeted the AAP Government saying that Kejriwal had promised to work for the welfare of common men but instead of doing that he has appointed 21 Parliamentary Secretaries and has showered them with all sorts of luxuries.
