In what seems to be a case of revenge, a man was shot dead at Tigri's JJ Colony on Wednesday 10 pm. The deceased had recently come out of prison where he was lodged in a murder case. Three persons, including two juveniles, have been apprehended, police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South District Romil Baaniya stated that the deceased, identified as Saghir, died of bullet and stab injuries. The deceased who recently came out of prison allegedly had some enmity with the accused persons.
Initial probe revealed that it was a case of revenge as it is alleged that one of the accused's brother was attacked by the deceased in January and his brother was killed in the attack. The deceased and the accused are allegedly distant relatives and they knew each other, DCP added.
During the shooting, two passersby were also injured. They were taken to the hospital and their condition is stable, DCP said.
The motive is allegedly personal animosity. A case has been filed in Neb Sarai Police Station under sections 302 - murder, 307 - attempt to murder and 25/27 of the Arms Act, he said.
