In a bid to deal with encroachment and clean Hindon, the Noida Authority on Tuesday said they have planned to develop a riverfront project having green corridors along Trans-Hindon river bed areas. Authority official said Yamuna river bed will also be developed in next phase.

The Noida authority would spend Rs 200 crore on this ambitious riverfront project along Yamuna and Hindon rivers. Authority officials said four companies have shown interest in developing the project who had been selected in technical bid. They have shown their detailed presentation about the plan on this project on Monday. As per plan, green corridors would be developed across 5,036 hectares of Noida flood plains areas.

“We are planning to provide riverfront development zone on both sides of Hindon river bed that will preserve eco-balance of the river and encroachment free areas. The plan has been made with ensuring clean Hindon River. Picnic spots would be developing in the areas for general public. Eco-friendly cycling tracks, green belts, yoga centres, picnic spots and parks would be developed in the green corridors,” said Saumya Srivastav, additional chief executive officer of Noida Authority.

“The process of pre technical bid meeting and technical bid have been done. We have to evaluate the technical bids of these particular companies. The selected four Multi National companies will participate in financial bids that will be opened next week. Then, we will finalise a final consultant who will plan for this project further,” Srivastav added.

In the first phase, 100 acres on each side of the road along trans-Hindon will be acquired and converted into the riverfront area.
