North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMC) after consultation with owners, associations of hotels, restaurants has allowed use of toilets in all 270 hotels and restaurants falling in its jurisdiction for women and children. This facility is available free of cost.
Preety Agarwal, Mayor of north Delhi said that the decision has been taken to facilitate women and children especially in areas where public convenience is not available. The facility is available in 47 restaurants, hotels in Karol Bagh zone, 12 in Narela zone, 72 in Rohini zone, 34 in the Sadar Paharganj zone and 14 in the city zone.
Agarwal further said that stickers are being stick in front of restaurants and hotels for creating awareness about the facility. “This is another step in the direction of Swachchh Bharat Mission,” she said.
