Two days after the brutal murder of former INlD MlA Bharat Singh, alias Bharte, Delhi Police has identified Udaiveer, alias Kale as the main conspirator. It was Kale who executed the plan along with two sharpshooters for avenging his father’s murder by Bharte’s elder brother Krishan Pehalwan in October 2005. Interrogators said on the fateful night, Kale, whose location is now untraceable, was sitting outside the party venue and his three sharpshooters pumped bullets into Bharte’s body. The teams of Delhi Police’s Special Cell, Crime Branch are working out to trace the location of Kale, who is stated to be hiding somewhere in Western Uttar Pradesh. Sources said that his last location was somewhere near Meerut till late Sunday.
Kale, who is in his early 20s, had hired Ravinder, alias Bholu and Deepak, who are the sharpshooters, to execute the plan on Sunday. They had prior information that Bharte was attending the party that was thrown by a Delhi Police constable on the birth of his son. Bholu and Deepak waited outside Abhinandan Vatika in Najafgarh and pounced upon the former MlA the moment he entered the premises. Sources said Kale’s bodyguard, identified as Chand, is also absconding.
Bharat Singh had succumbed to his injuries in Gurgaon’s Medanta Hospital while his two gunmen are still in intensive care. The former MlA had received six bullet wounds to his head and chest.
Sources said Kale was just 16 years old, when his father Surajmal, a sarpanch of Dichaon Kalan village (and sympathiser of Anoop-Balraj gang), was murdered in a marriage function at Village Palda in Sonepat by Mahavir, Rajesh, Shamsher, Narender Fauji on Pehalwan’s instructions. The assassination further stoked internecine tensions between Pehalwan and Anoop-Balraj.
“Till then, Kale was upset and decided to avenge his father’s murder. The 2012 attack, in which Bharte escaped, was his Plan A and the current attack was Plan B, in which they eliminated Bharte,” said an officer, who did not wish to be named.
Sources said Kale had also dared police while under the police custody to kill Krishan Pehalwan and his family members. At present, he was on bail. Sources further said that the Delhi Police is likely to declare a bounty on Kale’s head for Bharte’s murder. Another officer said Kale was provided logistical support by the members of Anoop-Balraj gang to gun down Pehalwan and his brother.
