The West district police have arrested the mother who has reportedly forced her daughter into prostitution in West Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area. The woman was arrested, following the complaint reported by the 13-year-old victim’s grandmother on March 5. Two years ago, the accused was arrested for running a prostitution racket. The police are now looking for her three accomplices.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), Ranvir Singh, said that the victim’s father died a few years back and she had approached the Paschim Vihar police station with her maternal grandmother, with whom she had been staying since she ran away to escape her mother’s clutches last week. “After she approached us with her complaint, we sent the victim for a medical examination which confirmed sexual assault,” Singh added. A case has been registered, under Section (376) for rape and several other Sections of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO), Act, against the accused and her three accomplices at Paschim Vihar police station.
The victim, in her complaint, told the police “Her mother had forced her to have sexual intercourse with three men at Nizamuddin, Minawali Nagar and Dwarka,” police officer said.
