However, tragedy was averted as the fire was quickly brought under control and there was no report of casualty. Officials also confirmed that there was no loss of human life.

Police said that a PCR regarding the incident was made around 8.55 am and after receiving the PCR call, four fire tenders from the Safdarjung Enclave fire station were immediately rushed to the school. "After reaching at the spot, within 10 minutes, the fire was completely doused by the fire tenders," a senior fire official said.

According to the official, preliminary investigation suggested that the fire could be the result of a short circuit from a split AC; though official confirmation, they said, could be made only after the investigations.

"At the time of incident, over 1,500 students were present inside the school. The school authority immediately evacuated the floor and some teachers used fire extinguishers," the officer added. After dousing the fire, first department appreciated the management for playing by the rulebook and following all the safety drills.
