Noida Police on Sunday arrested a software engineer for allegedly raping his 18-year-old domestic help. Police said the accused committed this heinous crime at his residence in Noida’s Sector 50 and later dumped her.
The victim managed to approach her placement agency in New Delhi and a zero FIR was lodged at Neemsarai police station. Police have sent the victim for a medical exam.Police said Sharad Jain, working with Microsoft Technology in Greater Noida, hired a maid from a Delhi-based placement agency earlier this month.On April 24 when his wife, a lecturer by profession, and other family members were away, Sharad entered the domestic help’s quarters and forced her to establish physical relations with him for a stipulated amount of money.
When the girl rebuffed his advances, he forced himself on her. The accused engineer also threatened her of dire consequences before leaving her at an undisclosed place.The bedraggled girl reached the concerned agency and chronicled her trauma. The office bearers of the agency along with an NGO approached the nearest police chowki and lodged a complaint.
After preliminary investigation, the case was transferred to Sector 49 police station. When police reached the engineer’s house, he feigned ignorance and attempted to slink away but was collared by police.“We have booked the engineer and are investigating the matter. During interrogation, the accused came clean. We are also awaiting the medical report,” said a senior police official of Noida Police.
