The revised detailed project report (DPR) of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) extension line to Ghaziabad is being examined by the lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (lMRC) officials before being put before the State Cabinet for its approval.

Vice-chairperson (VC) of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) Kanchan Verma said although the DPR of both lMRC and Dilshad Garden Extension line to Ghaziabad were prepared by the DMRC itself but to make it error proof before putting before the Cabinet, Chief Secretary Rajive Kumar has asked lMRC to examine it in detail.

“Since the Uttar Pradesh Government wants to expedite the project, it wants to make sure that after the Cabinet's approval, the fund share from Central Government is streamlined and the project is not delayed for want of funds which is already running behind the schedule” VC said. The revised DPR which had been waiting for the Cabinet approval for the last 10 months is expected to be cleared by the State Cabinet. Once it is approved the Central Government's share of Rs 402 crore will be taken without any further delay, the VC added.

The funding pattern and Memorandum of Understanding of Rs 2,210 crore project was approved by the then Akhilesh Yadav government. The Chief Secretary has taken up the initiative to get it cleared, she further said. According to the estimated total cost of the project, GDA has paid its share of Rs 695 crore. The DMRC would fund Rs 257crore, the UPSIDC Rs 97 crore, the Avas Vikas Rs 440 crore and the Municipal Corporation Rs 246 crore.
