Staff Reporter

A 30-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death in Ambedkar Nagar area of South-east Delhi in the wee hours of Tuesday, police said.

Suresh, who worked at a private firm in Okhla, was lying in a pool of blood on a roadside in block J of Dakshinpuri when a local spotted him and informed police. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

“Information was received around 2 am at Ambedkar Nagar police station. A case under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered and investigation is underway,” said deputy commissioner of police (southeast) Romil Baniya.

Suresh is survived by wife Shobha and two sons — Anurag and Sidharth. Suresh’s family said Suresh was also working in another company as a part time job.

He had gone from home around 9 pm on Monday to get payment from a person, said police, adding that his family became concerned when he didn’t return by 12 am. Phone calls made to him went unanswered. So his family finally informed police.

“We were later informed Suresh is dead. He had been stabbed repeatedly with a sharp edged weapon. It was very shocking. Suresh was a nice person and did not have enmity with anyone. He had come to the area only a few months ago,” said Vishal Singh, Suresh’s brother-in-law.

Police said they are scanning the CCTV footages of the area for clues. Further investigations are on.
