A 30-year-old man was hit by a stray bullet shot by chain snatchers on Sunday evening in Sector 63, Noida. The victim, Sanjay Verma, received bullet injury in his stomach and was admitted in a private hospital. He is said to be out of danger.
Police said Verma was traveling on an e-rickshaw in Sector 63 and a woman was sitting beside him. Two snatchers on a bike tried to snatch her chain. When the woman resisted the move, the criminals opened fire at them. However, the bullet narrowly missed the woman and hit Verma.
Verma, an MBA graduate and a resident of Banaras, works as a sales executive in a real estate firm in Sector 62. Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi, SHO Phase 3 police station, said that a case has been registered against the criminals. “We are procuring the CCTV footage of cameras installed around the area. The criminals will be arrested soon.”
