A man has been arrested for abducting and molesting a 10-year-old girl in East Delhi’s Ghazipur area.
Police said that the accused has been identified as Durgesh.“The incident took place on Tuesday evening when the victim was playing outside and accused abducted her. He later took her in an isolated place where he molested her. He fled from the spot when the victim screamed and raised an alarm,” the officer added.
locals rushed to her aid and some passersby informed the victim's parents.A passerby made a call to the police control room (PCR) and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for the medical examination.Based on the statement of the victim's mother, a case was registered under Sections 354 (molestation) of the Indian Penal Code and several Sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Ghazipur police station of East Delhi.
In another incident, the Delhi Police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a 22-year-old girl on the pretext of marriage in South Delhi's Saket.The 24-year-old accused, Rahul Sharma was in a relationship with the victim for the last three years but few days ago, he refused to marry her.
