Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested the man who impersonated as PMO Director and went to meet the Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) for seeking undue favours.

"He had introduced himself to the CVC as Krishna Kumar, which is a fictitious name, and after his arrest the police came to know that his actual name is Kanhaiya Kumar," said a police source.

Police also recovered a car with a Government of India (GOI) sticker on it. Kumar also told that he was provided the fake visiting cards, which he had presented to the CVC to introduce himself, by his aide Candermoulli, who is in Hyderabad.

Police further revealed that Kumar also impersonated as an IAS officer and got a lot of personal favours. "We will now search the accused's residence in Noida to recover more incriminating materials. We need to arrest other accused persons and would interrogate them. We will take Kumar to Noida and Hyderabad for getting more leads in the matter," said the source. The Pioneer had published a story about this last week.

Chief Vigilance Commissioner, KV Chowdary, was visited by, who identified himself as Director in PMO, along with another man who identified himself as Savitur Prasad, Additional Controller General in Ministry of Defence to seek undue favours. The CVC refused their request as it was outside his domain.

The accused also produced his visiting card but what both the CVC and his PA did not notice was that the visiting card of Kumar had his office address printed as - Room number 152, South Block, Raisina Hill, New Delhi-110011 - which is the office room of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After meeting the CVC, Kumar lauded certain good work done by the CVC related to the Income-Tax department and gave references of two or three I-T officers whom he knew. But Chowdary said he was not aware of them.

Thereafter, Kumar pointed towards Savitur Prasad and complained to the CVC saying that Prasad, despite being an Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer and the senior most in his department, is not allocated any important work and that grave injustice is being done to him.
