A 24-year-old youth was arrested on Friday for allegedly slitting the throat of an 18-year-old girl after she rejected his marriage proposal. The condition of the girl — rushed to Sanjay Gandhi hospital — is stable, said police, adding that the incident took place in Outer Delhi’s Mangolpuri area in T-block on Friday morning, police said.
The accused Rahul barged into the house of girl and slit her throat, said police.
Eyewitnesses said victim’s family members were not present inside the house when Rahul attacked her. It was only later when a relative who came to visit the family, found her lying in a pool of blood, said sources.
Police were informed by the hospital authorities. Case was registered and further investigation is underway.
