lieutenant Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung on Tuesday held a meeting with women organisations and the Delhi Police to review women's safety in the Capital. The meeting was attended by women's right groups and officers of Delhi Police including Taj Hasan, Special CP Traffic, who is also the Nodal Officer, Joint CP Crime, SBK Singh and Additional DCP (Special Police Unit for Women and Children) Suman Nalwa.
"The meeting was held to review security and safety issues pertaining to women in the Capital. The lG stressed on wider publicity to the new laws amended recently inflicting harsh punishment
against sexual offenders to deter them. He said fear of law must be generated amongst the offenders by the publicity campaign and by prompt action on the ground by police officers," said an officer.
The lieutenant Governor also stressed that even the minor incidents must be registered and the offenders must be brought to book by invoking stringent sections of the law.
