CM urges children to participate in anti-dengue campaign

The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday marked the fifth Sunday of the 10 Hafte 10 Baje 10 Minute campaign by replacing stagnant clean water at his home. The initiative was launched by the Chief Minister to contain vector borne diseases.

In the fifth week of the campaign, Kejriwal encouraged children to participate in the campaign by inspecting their houses for 10 minutes at 10 am every Sunday. The CM also encouraged the children to call their friends and motivate them to participate in the campaign by inspecting their houses.

Kejriwal tweeted, “Delhi’s campaign against dengue continues. Today, on the fifth Sunday of the campaign, I replaced the water at home and eliminated the possibility of breeding of dengue mosquitoes. I urge everyone to be a part of this campaign every Sunday. #10Hafte10Baje10Minute Har Ravivaar, Dengue Par Vaar.”

The campaign is witnessing huge participation from children. Yuvraj, a student in a Delhi Government school, has been enthusiastically supporting the campaign by replacing stagnant water at his home every Sunday. Yuvraj, who studies in Class 8th, said he has also been calling his friends to motivate them to check their houses for accumulated water and prevent the breeding of dengue mosquitoes.

Kejriwal took to social media to appreciate the children and said, “In this campaign against dengue, the children of Delhi are doing their homework well. Other students along with Yuvraj who study in the 8th standard, also checked their houses and replaced the stagnant water. I pray to God that our children remain safe from dengue, stay healthy, and do good in life.”

This year, the Delhi Government has also launched a telephonic helpline — 01123300012 and WhatsApp helpline — 8595920530 to assist the general public with dengue.
