Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who has been made a co-accused by the Anti-Corruption Branch in an FIR over alleged illegal recruitments in the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), on Wednesday alleged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hand in it.

He said a special session of the Delhi Assembly would be called to expose the conspiracy behind the FIR.   “Don’t know why my name is in the FIR,” the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader told reporters. “Without the Prime Minister’s approval, a Chief Minister’s name doesn’t come in an FIR.”

Kejriwal remarks came after the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) slapped an FIR against DCW chief Swati Maliwal on Monday night over complaints of alleged irregular recruitment.

Meanwhile, ACB chief MK Meena on Wednesday said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s name was there in the FIR but he is not accused in the case as of yet.

Meena made the statement hours after Kejriwal said he was surprised he had been named in the FIR and blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this.

“In the ACB’s endorsement enquiry report, Kejriwal’s name is not mentioned. He is not an accused in the case and we are not conducting any enquiry against him,” Meena said.

The officer, however, said a notice had been served to Maliwal to appear before the ACB on September 29 in connection with the case.

The officer said Maliwal, his secretary PP Dhal and some Government officials were named in the FIR on Monday. Maliwal has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing vis-a-vis recruitment in the DCW.

The DCW is under ACB’s scanner for arbitrarily appointing 83 people in the past year. Reacting to this, Maliwal tweeted that she has not done anything wrong and has been following the norms and regulations while appointing people.

“What is my role in thisIJ” Kejriwal asked. “My role has not been mentioned even once in the FIR (First Information Report),” Kejriwal said.

He further added that there will be a detailed discussion on this. A special Vidhan Sabha session will be called in a few days to uncover the plot behind this FIR.

The complaint against Maliwal was filed by former DCW chief and Congress leader Barkha Singh Shukla. Maliwal has denied the accusations. last month, Kejriwal had warned that Maliwal will be arrested as Centre wants to reverse the decisions taken by the AAP Government through lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung.
