The Ghaziabad police arrested two persons, including a juvenile, for kidnapping and killing a Class IX student whose body was recovered from a pond in Greater Noida on Friday. The deceased, Aayush Sharma, a resident of Vaishali, was a student of Saint Francis Public School Ghaziabad. He was abducted on April 16.
Next day on April 17, Aayush's father Pramod Sharma lodged a kidnapping complaint at the Indirapuram police station, stating that Avdhesh, alias Virat Sharma, Vishal and a 17-year-old minor had abducted his son.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vaibhav Krishna said following the complaint, police picked up Avdhesh and the minor from their hideouts in Vijay Nagar area for questioning. The third accused Vishal is still at large, he added.
Avdhesh, a resident of Gokuldham society in Vijay Nagar, is an unemployed youth while the minor, a resident of Makanpur in Indirapuram is a student of Saint John's Public School, the SSP said.
During the interrogation, the two accused told police they knew Aayush was expert in computer operation. They requested him to teach them how to make a PDF file as a ruse to kidnap him and extort money from his family, the SSP added
On the fateful day, they all four (three abductors and Aayush) moved on a bike towards Sector 63 Noida where they had soft drinks. After having the soft drinks, they asked Aayush to call his father to send Rs 2.3 lakh. When Ayush objected to it, they hit him with a heavy object on his head killing him on the spot. Then they drove to an abandoned place in Ecotech area of Greater Noida and dumped his body in a pond. To ensure that the body did not surface, they put a heavy stone over it, said the SSP, adding Ayush's body was recovered on their instance.
"Aayush wanted to be an ethical hacker so he was very much interested in computer operation," the SSP added.
