lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung met representatives of those affected in the Rangpuri demolitions on Friday and assured them of providing immediate relief. Jung issued stern directions to the Delhi Chief Secretary and concerned officials to provide immediate succour to those affected in the demolitions.
Jung issued directions to the officials that the elderly, women and children be provided shelter first. “Tents were being erected on site to provide shelter to those affected. So far 70 families have been provided tents. Durries and blankets have been provided. On site toilet facilities are being operationalised. Drinking water and food packets were being made available on site. On November 27, food for 300 people was arranged. A team of Civil Defence Volunteers is on duty round-the-clock,” said an official.
