Hundreds of students from Delhi University, Ambedkar University of Delhi, Left and Congress backed students unions — National Student Union of India (NSUI) and All India Medical Institute of India (AIIMS) students and doctors spotted protesting against the Delhi Police and CAA.

“Resident doctors associations (RDA) of AIIMS condemn the brutal and barbaric attack on the students and citizens of India who were protesting against the CAA. We believe that the voice of dissent is the beauty and backbone of any democracy of the world and it should be heard. We urge the police to be more compassionate while dealing with their own innocent fellow countrymen. Also, we request the protesters to conduct a peaceful protest and do not damage the public properties,” said AIIMS doctors and students association.

While some students and activists of Akhil Bhartiya Jaanta Party (ABVP) held a protest supporting the amended Citizenship Act and Delhi Police Action during the Jamia protest.

In Delhi University (DU) also hundreds of students gathered from its colleges and Ambedkar University (AUD) joined the protest held in support of Students of Jamia and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

While some DU students alleged that, “In Delhi University, ABVP is deliberately targeting Muslim students. Women in Hijab and men with beards were targeted today in Protest against Citizenship Act. Complaint by two women students and one male student have been registered in Maurice Nagar police station.”

However, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) allied student union ABVP denied these allegations.

Nidhi Tripathi, National General Secretary, ABVP said, “A handful of people have been trying to disrupt the social harmony of our nation. They have been trying to create an atmosphere of anarchy across campuses and students will not let that happen. The atrocities and excesses that the refugees have faced demand that we empathize with them. This act ensures a life of dignity for these refugees and is nothing less than a boon for them.”
