Putting to rest long-continuing speculation over his enigmatic absence from the Congress campaign for the urban local body (ULB) polls slated on November 18, the former chief minister and the party stalwart Harish Rawat  has plunged into the heat and dust of electioneering on Monday.

On the day, he campaigned for the Congress candidates in Haridwar district. In a statement released on Monday, the former CM appealed to the people to teach the dictatorial Union government and the non-performing state government a lesson by casting their votes for the Congress candidates.

On Tuesday, the former CM would address  a string of public meetings in Dehradun while on Wednesday he is slated to campaign  extensively for the polls in Kumaon.
