Staff Reporter

The Hindu College Boys’ Hostels Warden Poonam Sethi on Tuesday claimed to have complained to Vice-Chancellor of the Delhi University about liquor being served at alumni function of the college on the campus itself. In her complaint, she alleged that the college campus is being turned into a ‘drinking den’ by the Association of Hindu Hostel Alumni which organsied a party to raise funds for the Uttarakhand victims.

She further alleged that even the Principal of the College, turned his head off taking any responsibility, as he permitted the alumni to go ahead. “As a warden of the hostel, I did not give permission because of drinking that went on freely for the last two years. Your intervention is sought to curb misuse of college premises,” she stated.

However, calling it a cheap publicity stunt by the college warden, Kumar categorically denied that the liquor was served on the particular day. “She was aware of the  situation yet allowed them the auditorium for one hour and lawn for dinner as the crowd consisted of reputed IAS and IPS officers who deserved respect from the institute they call their alma meter,” Kumar added.
