The much-talked-about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s bank account for everyone scheme would be formally launched by Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan at Players’ Building in the national Capital on August 28. The scheme will be launched nationally in New Delhi by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.
According to Delhi Government’s officials, all preparations have been made to launch the scheme for urban poor. lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung will also be present on the occasion. Under the scheme, the Government will ensure a bank account for everyone with a special focus on poor. The scheme aims at providing bank accounts to each household which doesn’t have an account. Each account-holder will get a RuPay debit card with accident insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh. In the second phase, each of these account-holders will also get life insurance cover and pension products.
